About Mountain West Trades

Mountain West Trades is an independent job board for skilled trades — HVAC, plumbing and electrical first, with diesel and fleet technicians, solar and general construction alongside. We started in Utah and cover Idaho, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, Wyoming, Montana and New Mexico.

What we do differently

• Pay on every listing where the employer states it. We ask every employer to post a pay range and we never estimate pay for them. When a listing has no posted pay, it says "Pay not posted."
• License-aware. Listings say which licenses a job needs. Our state guides summarize what each state's licensing board requires, with a link to the board and the date we last checked it.
• Mountain West only. Every job is in one of eight states. No nationwide filler.
• Applications go to the employer. You apply on the employer's own page or by email. We do not sit in the middle.

Who writes the guides

Guides, articles and landing-page summaries are produced by the Mountain West Trades editors, with AI-assisted research and drafting, from primary sources — state licensing boards, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and federal agencies such as the EPA. Each page lists its sources and the date every fact was last verified, and every blog post is read and approved by an editor before it's published. We are not licensing officials; for a decision about your own license, check with the board that issues it.
